Mr. Randall C. Belinfante earned Master's degrees in Education, Judaic studies and Library Science (for which he wrote a thesis dealing with the poetry of the 18th century Dutch Rabbi/Librarian, Isaac Cohen Belinfante). Since his start in 2001, Mr. Belinfante has developed the library into a significant collection of more than 10,000 cataloged items and over 350 linear feet of archives. He handles all aspects of library operations including the acquisition, cataloging, and processing of materials.

Mr. Belinfante also provides reference services and has assisted with the research for a number of exhibitions. He is actively involved in the Association of Jewish Libraries and has spoken in a variety of forums on aspects of Sephardic history and genealogy. His essays and reviews have appeared in a number of publications including Midstream. His future goals for the National Sephardic Library include the expansion of its collection of Mizrahi materials and furthering library outreach, both here in New York City and on the Internet.

Mr. Belinfante is an active member of Congregation Shearith Israel (the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue) and comes from a long line of Sephardi rabbis and librarians.
